KINGDOM OF FANS OR FANDOM

I had mentioned about this things called fandom or Kingdom of fans in my earlier post happy anniversary to elfs all around the world

Now, put aside Kpop, I salute the fandom efforts in showing their loves and supports to their favourite artistes make it solo singers, duets, trio or groups.

Any project involving their favourite artiste, the admins of all active fanbases will, let me say this proudly ---- UNITES, and they will lay out the strategy, whether it is to push the votes in an online contest or a simple poll on various category, for example on who is the fashion icon.

There are also fans who donates money to buy rice wreath, either to be send to filming location, press conference or concerts. An excerpt from allkpop.com

It’s not only sending rice wreath but there are the fans who supported charity/donation drive for example : an excerpt from gokpop.com “Super Junior's Choi Siwon and his fans manage to raise US$6,500 for West Africa. The latest example of what this fans are willing to do is in conjuction with Kim Ryeowook or Ryeowook of Super Junior upcoming birthday 21/06, Thai ELFs has donated a baby giraffe to Dusit Zoo in Bangkok Thailand (source Ryeowook twitter @ryeong9)

Now, I don’t see that happening in that scale especially not in my own country, Malaysia.

You see there is nothing this fandoms will not do for their favourite artistes / group The sense of belonging this fans has to their fandom can beat those of political parties, and they (the political party) should be ashamed as they are not able to pull such act.

I am a proud ELF, I may not be one from the beginning but I know one thing for sure, once a fan will always remain a fan. ELF or Everlasting Friends, a beautiful name indeed, everyone is Super Junior everlasting friends.

They even wrote a song to ELFs and it is titled “Sapphire Blue – (Sowuhni Innayo)” this is because the official colour for us ELF is Sapphire Blue and it was featured in their second album “Don’t Don”.

There are also fans who wrote song to their artistes/group to show gratitude, such in a case of 2PM. Their fans had re-written one of 2PM song titled “Thank You” which was originally written to say thanks to their legion of fans but it was dedicated back to them by their fans.

Their fans was singing the re-written version to them during one of their concerts in Korea. Each and every one of the group members was in tears, fans included.

It was posted in YOUTUBE which was a combination of fans cam and cuts from 2PM’s DSCS DVD  and for someone who is not in 2PM fandom, I cried, yup !!, I did !!. It was beautifully written and again, I would like to give my utmost respect to whoever was writing it. (I managed to watch it back in March 2012 but the the vids are no longer available though)

As for other fandoms, I don’t really know much about them, but, I believe we share the same passion, same love to our favourite artistes/groups.

What is so unique about this things called fandom is, the fans come from all over the world.

Fans from all over the world !! Let us be realistic here, these are people who are connected to internet,  they are working adult, university / college students, secondary even primary school children.

Those who happened to be online, will go to all possible web link related to their favourite artistes and start to update each other and really, news travel faster especially when we mentioned the magical word called TWITTER.

During my teens years, those artistes from Hong Kong were the ones me and my friends go crazy about. Names like Leslie Cheung, Andy Lau, Jacky Cheung, group like Grasshopper, Beyond and few others. And during our times, there are no facebook, no twitter, our source of info was an imported Chinese magazine, and we had to get our classmate/schoolmate to translate to us on the articles.

Favourite words, khau meng ahhh, toum chu, sek fan and others cantonese words, mind you, I was in Sibu and “national” language there is Foochow.. But I did not take the time to learn  Foochow dialect as I was so engrossed with all things Cantonese.. Ahaks…

Fast forward to 2012, I am amazed at the amount of knowledge this new breed of teenagers had in their “hands” on their favourite artistes /group. You can get an update as soon as their favourite artistes arrived at the airport few days before concerts or even before the drama or film starts shooting.

Even while the artistes was having break, the fans manage to snap one or two photos and update it in their twitter for other fans to see… And I mean, for fans all around the world..

AMAZING, AMAZING INDEED!!

But, even though they are willing to share information, there are times, they will “fight” especially when one claim it was originally their info and no proper credit was given by the other fan base. BUT!! that doesn’t happened all the times as at the end of day, their unconditional love to their favourite artistes / group will stop the ‘fight” from continuing.

Fan base or individuals fans, these are the people who make up the fandoms and they literally eat, drink and breathe their favourites artistes / group.

Ohhh… before I forget.

I have some exciting info to share – my boys are preparing for their 6^th full studio album, and hopefully it will be before Super Junior leader, Leeteuk serve in Military for 24 month, a must  for all South Korean male.

No confirmation on the actual date as most fan base are going back and forth with both confirmed and unconfirmed info on the album release.

For the past few days, esp today 19.06.2012,they are tweeting about the boys done with their MV filming and there are also information on Kangin resuming his role as one of Super Junior member after his release from his Military duty on 16.04.2012.

And..

There are more… it is an ongoing process, so there are no END but AND..

Happy anniversary to ELFs all around the world

Today is 02/06/2012, it is the 6th anniversary for ELF.. Ohh no, there are not at all related to the ELF in Lord of the Ring trilogy.

ELF stands for Everlasting Friends,and they are Super Junior fans. Fanclub as most of you guys would called it but no, it's known amongst those kpoppers as fandom. Sounded very much like kingdom of fans, don't you think so.

This posting is dedicated to ELFs around the world for being so united, and we are talking about those ELF who are from Korea, China,Japan,Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam,Australia, The Philipines, Singapore, Indonesia, Negara Brunei Darussalam, North &South America, England, Paris, probably the whole of Europe, Russia and of course my own country, Malaysia. Country mentioned are those that I know are having fanbases and a very active ones with admins from all over. No kidding guys..

They used all popular social networking site, to update each other with news related to everything Super Junior. The most popular ones are Twitter, Facebook. There are also Tumblr, Wordpress, Weibo, Cyworld too.

The extensive knowledge they possessed about all things Super Junior, made me, one of the newbie felt like I had known the group from their debut days.

I laughed, I cried reading blogs posting dedicated to the Super guys. To be honest there might be grammar mistakes here and there, but do I care !! NO!!

Their loves to Super Junior surpasses language barrier, different culture even religion. They also have utmost respect to one another, they share information, they share photos (though stamped with water mark) yet, they still share it to the rest of their fellow ELFs around the world.

They even know the schedule of Super Junior group members, make it drama, variety and radio show.

Now guys, I asked you, don't you think ELFs daebak.. Yup.. they are, and I must say that I am proud to be one of them.

Before I ends this, if you are a new fan of Group Super Junior , you are going to fall so much in love with them, you need ELF to be our oxygen. No joke.

Happy 6th anniversary to ELFs. Proud to be on this kingdom of fans, proud to be in the family.

The End

Let me put an end to my previous posting on Too Young!! He eventually got engaged to the boss sister. Oh well .. Am not sad though as I've seen his true colour! He wants a good life and using fast track to good life. He wanted car and since it is provided by the company, why don't just grab the opportunity, right?? I truly wished them both the best and may their engagement ends in marriage and may their marriage last a lifetime. The end.

FYI, I did have a cuppa with him, but though it felt right, it felt wrong at the same time..

Why???
All of his interest was actually to see if he can make use of me!!!
I was contemplating whether I’m going to do an exciting posting like my latest two entry or just follow exactly how I felt after having a cuppa and a week of feeling used !!.
I go for the latter.

I need to stay true to my feelings, to write from the heart so that my ideas will flow like a waterfall (I wish !!) and also I can be truthful to myself.

Let me tell you the story.
02/02/2012 - Thursday
I went to see Neilly at the bakery, my so-called normal routine. My way of showing my support to a friend business.
She asked me “did you see him?” He went out with Chef , I said.
Half way through our conversation, she suddenly laughed, then she showed me text message from S,
“Kirim salam ngan Chinta lok, maksehhhhhhhhhhh”
I just said “Padah nya , nya eksen gilak “
And we continued with our conversation. She revealed to me some disturbing matters on her then current situation, but I am not going to mention about it here, as it is very P & C.
Roughly around 7.30pm, done with my tete-a- tete with Neilly, I made my way to the counter to pay for my food and drinks and bread to bring home, but S was nowhere to be seen. Oh well, Neilly did mentioned that he was shy.
So I told Neilly to “ Babe, kirim salam Chinta sikit lok ?!!”
Knowing Neilly, she went straight to the kitchen and told him, I could hear a loud noise from the kitchen then I went home.

06/02/2012 – Monday
Me and my friend, Siti @Along went to the bakery as I had wanted to celebrate her birthday early and to pass her birthday gift as well. But before that, I texted Neilly through Whatsapp asking her on their bread stock for the day.
What I like about the bakery is, they prefer quality over quantity, they will not produce more than ten loaf of bread.
But… let me continue with my story ya..
We went there at around 4pm, but Neilly was not around as she was out buying stock for the shop, but she promised she won’t be long.
We carry on our conversation, then Neilly showed up. And, he showed himself too, guess he needed Neilly to be around, as his support system maybe.
Before we heads home, I had to wait for the staff to slice the loaf as I had specifically request for a white toast and as it is still on the cooling tray, we had to wait, and there he was standing at the counter, showing himself finally.!!!!
I had asked him to slice the loaf, and he was telling me, that the loaf is still hot but I insist (I was kinda flirting actually… AND newsflash he was too….)
So I said, “ Saya mauk Intan payung.. he made a move ala Apek Senario and dash to the kitchen to slice the loaf and then after putting it the plastic, he went out to pass the bread for me to pay all smiling.
Okay,… Smitten !!! both are …. ( During that particular time I supposed!!)

Truthfully, am not in the mood to continue but none theless..
Next…..The story goes like this..

We had our first ever conversation on 09/02/2012, as usual me and my friend was at the bakery to celebrate another friend birthday. We were there up until closing time which is 9 pm.
At about 8.40pm, I left them to continue with their conversation, while I went straight to get my bread and on my way to pay for my purchase, there he was, sitting at the counter waiting to talk to me.
I told him that his invitation to have a cuppa with me has got to wait (I was not ready!!!) but I could see that he was so determined , you know it was DO OR DIE things for him. He told me he needed 2 minutes of my time, so we talked in front of the counter. The main conversation was about how he wants to buy a car and was asking on the procedure, somewhere between our conversation, he was mentioning on how to apply personal loan amounting to RM40K, and how he wants to buy his dream car cash (funny don’t you think so).
I kept on asking him if he is seriously thinking of buying cars, and since I could not get all info as he was practically whispering, he suggested we talked outside, so I paid for my bread and went outside.
Then he asked me, when are we going to have our cuppa, he insisted that he can only afford to bring me to go to normal coffee shop, he was stressing the word coffee shop, I reassure him that I am ok with his venue choice up to one point when I asked him this question -> “Do I look expensive to you !!”

And he said,yes !!!

I told him, never put a price tag on everything you see for you might be wrong.

I for one, never believe in buying everything expensive, it depends on what and is it really worth buying it, of course I had my own weaknesses – accessories - earrings, bracelets, rings…
…. But truth is people, even then I already sense something amiss.

Nay… I’m not angry but sad that I get to be treated that way, made me wonder what did I do to deserve such treatment. Or am I blinded by all the attention.

I cried okay… I did!..

I felt cheated !!
But good things is, I found out about his actual intention as soon as I finished my tea.
It would be hard if we actually had something and to say no.

Truth is I don’t want to continue.. no point as the real reason on his showing all the interest merely trying his luck. To see if I would give my consent to be his guarantor to do loans.
So I am gonna end this post, just like this.

Last I heard, he is dating the sister of the Bakery Owner, happy for both of them. Only wishing he is not using that opportunity to change his life for a better ones.
Ciao……….

ME : Those who read the blog, ask me to ask S.... out, Not the romantic outing, casual ones..
ME : I find that hard to do, Sik over ka?
Neilly : It depends juak where.. Mun normal place, mbak makan ajak I think should be ok..
ME : Lunch la nak..... But.... I do find it hard to do, plus I don't know how he would react
ME : The reason they ask me to do that is because, at least I can see where it goes, relationship or friendship
ME : For all we know nya alu takut with me
ME : That's the last thing I want to happen
ME : Since you are opening your shop soon and I know he is one of your good staff
Neilly : Why don't you make yourself comfortable with him first then you take him out
I mean you go to S..... selalu, talk to him.. make he feels comfortable talking to you.. then baruk keluar.. Coz he is a very shy guy.. nya ya cepat singkol ngan orang, omce dah comfortable, then baruk senang nak keluar
Neilly : I mean, that's how I look at him lah,
ME : That's why I ask you, you knows him.. I won't rush anyway
Neilly : Then kelak bila kedey dah bukak, makin senang lah you both nak communicate

Then I asked her, whose birthday was it when he send his first salam, she couldn't remember, after which our conversation continued..

ME : Remember I told you, I thought it was a one off crush but knowing nya still ada those crush... I appreciate that
ME :Really...

Okay people, saya tok bukan jenis lemah lembut, I don't fake myself, I consider myself macam singa or lionness, Like me for me, you don't like me, there's the door.

So for someone who had the guts to do what he did, I felt I need to let him know, I appreciate that, that's all

Towards the end of our conversation, I went to check,when, whose birthday and which purple tops I wore..

It was one year ago....

I still believe in not rushing it, age might be catching up on me, but, good things come to those who waits...

This has been bugging me for almost a month now... I was even asking a fellow blogger to check if the entry is an OK! entry..

Feelings …

Feelings, nothing more than feelings….

I have been in this single status of mine, like, forever, so comfortable until it doesn’t cross my mind at all to look for boyfriend. Fall deeply in love, twice and to be honest, that’s it.

Just recently found out one guy who is way younger….. like VERY YOUNG… has a crush on me.. at first I thought it was a one off feelings, but found out month later, my mere presence still made him all nervous inside.

Perasan ! You might want say, but so was I, not until he go and told his former boss who happened to be my BFF about my presence at his new workplace, a local eatery place serving one of the best ayam penyet in town.

It was afternoon and I was having lunch with my close friend who also happened to be my colleague. After ordering our food, we proceed to take our seat.

Normally, I prefer to sit with my back facing the entrance, as I have the tendencies to check out people who walk in and out of the shop. But on that day, I took a seat facing the entrance, and then I saw him, and I thought, ohh... he looked familiar, AND soon after that I received Whatsapp message from my BFF, and the conversation goes like this :

BFF – babe
ME – Yup
BFF – U at S***** **** is it?
ME – Ya, Y?
BFF – Remember my staff S********?
ME – I thot is was him, haha
BFF – Hehehe, He called me up just now
BFF – Telling me that you are there
ME – Really
BFF – He said nya sik sure you masih ingat dgn nya lagik or not
ME – Bukan nya kerja Pullman ka?
BFF – Kelak you balit you negur nya kelak, nya madah nya nervous!
BFF – Dah resign, while waiting for the shop to buka, nya kerja sia kejap

Then I told my BFF to send my regards to him. Then later in the afternoon, I send my BFF a Whatsapp message asking if she had conveyed my salam, of course she did, then she told me that he mentioned on how embarassed he was when I was there, guess what was the other question,"Do you think she will come here again to eat?" So cute don't you think so... My BFF just reply, how would I know,then he laughed.

So I told my BFF the eatery place he currently working with are favourites among my colleague and myself. They served the best AYAM PENYET.. at least for us.

HAHAHAH... Jackpot!! for who !! Him?? maybe ??

The thoughts of me, making him all nervous was flattering, and I couldn't deny the fact that it made me smile all day. So later in the evening, I called my BFF and asked her more about him, and she mentioned that whenever he message her on things, he would ask (about me) indirectly through her.. I was like, hmmmm.... Okay....

Wow.. hihihihi.....

Oh well let me tell you a secret !
In fact ! he made a bold move months before (or was it nearly a year) by asking my BFF to convey his ‘salam’ to me, when he was still working at her old bakery shop.

Please don't asked me if I remember the exact date? All I can remember was, we were celebrating a friend birthday, when suddenly, my BFF came from behind and tell me "Babe, my staff said " kak, kirim salam ngan orang baju ungu"

I turn my head to see who he was, well being tall, I spot him right away.. Not bad looking okay...

Did I pay attention !!.. Definitely not !!

Being me,and with my URAT INGGA tebal macam Benua Asia.. I was like.. Nahhh... So wrong..

BUT !

BUT !.....

But after the incident at the shop, I consulted few friends about this, most of them was telling me that there is no harm to going out with younger man, especially the ones who was with me on 01/11/2011.

So, on 02/11/2011, as usual, I send my BFF a Whatsapp message, it goes like this :-

ME : Babe
BFF : Yup
ME : Berapa umo S..... tek?
BFF : 23 0r 24 ?
ME : Bkn younger ka??
BFF : No lah, around dat umor nya
ME : HMMM.... My fren yesterday nanyak, nya itok oii, asked me to proceed
ME : Ada ka patut?
BFF : (Thumbs up sign times 3), Y not..?
ME : Too young la babe, but it got me thinking juak sebenarnya
BFF : Well, looked at Bill... Bahagia juak nya... So...
ME : Bill is Bill
ME : I'm very particular, tho I'm giving it some thots,
ME : AIYAKKK !!!, Bdk2 tu....
BFF : Just follow the flow la
ME : If I'm not mistaken nya thn 90 la babe, ingat sik you ask me to check his a/c
BFF : True, he's budak2 but den again still man thou...
ME : Let me think lok ehhh... Will let you know
BFF : No need to let me know la babe, I'm cool
ME : As a friend ajak to start with
BFF : (Thumbs up sign)
ME : kan I always put barrier, he is your staff
BFF : In the shop yes. But outside he has his own life n I never interfere
ME : I put that barrier !
BFF : Cool

Our conversation ended at 5.31pm

So the next day 03/11/2011, What did I do, I told my BFF to give my phone no to him (ONLY IF HE ASKED ABOUT ME, IF HE ASKED) but found out later she gave it to him anyway, not sporting lah my BFF !! hahaha

Fast forward to 23/11/2011, I posted news on Skuad Harimau Muda on my status in FB, so my BFF saw it and commmented.. But STOP ! why suddenly Skuad harimau muda is the picture..

Keep on reading okay...

Yup.. bear with me....

I suddenly realise I was asking all the questions, the pros and cons to all the wrong people!

Another friend got married earlier this year, and she is 14 years older than her husband, and they are expecting their first baby in Mid December...

So I called her on 28/11/2011, not comparing the situation but more on how she felt going out with a younger man.

My conscience was then clear, especially when she said, when they first go out, she was not expecting any serious relationship. She took it as another date.

Now at least, I am more relax... I was doing less thinking on how, what , who. etc

I am going to follow the flow..

Oh ya.. there's more.. I'm not done yet...

01/12/2011, me and another BFF who happened to be my colleague too, went to his workplace to eat.. but not before I called him to ask whether the place was full or not (did I put there I called him, oh ya... the day I asked Neilly if she gave my phone number to him, I asked for his number also).

But not before I called Neilly to ask how he is...

Did I called him, of course I did, I was surprised, the conversation was actually smooth, he still call me kakak... I like that... but I can sense he is still nervous..

So when we arrived there, I made a point, I looked for him and order the ayam penyet from him... just to break the ice bah...

We actually were at ease with each other and of course I let him do his work.

Anyway, just before I left, I conveyed to him Neilly's "salam"...

Observation done by my BFF, he is still a bit shy, but more relaxed..

World Walking Day 20-11-2011

I am supposed to do this post first, but apparently, another more interesting topic took centre stage..

Oh well, better late then never. When Ida invited me to join World Walking day in 2010, I had to decline, as at the same time the whole staff (almost) of Corporate Banking were having their "Away Day", though it is more to training than outing, nonetheless, I had fun.

So when she invited me to join for 2011 WWD, I immediately agree. I registered together with my other colleague, but on the actual day, I was all alone, huhu.... none of them turn up...

Did I walk.... No.... But I had other interesting things to do...
